Nari Kye is a Bad Mamma-Jamma
by andy [Team Editor]
The world was first introduced to Nari Kye in the Korea episode of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations. Her perky, gung-ho attitude juxtaposed perfectly with Tony’s more dour, cynical-yet lovable- disposition.
Nari’s sunny outlook could be attributed to the fact she was visiting her homeland for the first time in many years. Perhaps it’s just her nature. Or perhaps, and most likely, us Koreans are simply the most uber fun-loving people in the world (minus those Northern commie bastards).
She’s entertaining and encompases the best qualities of TV food luminaries such as Rachel Ray, the Blonde One, and the Italian One without wanting to smash your TV, cancel the cable, and adopt an electricty-free Amish lifestyle after watching for 10 minutes.
I don’t know if she’ll ever have her own show, but I cyber stalked stumbled across this educational and professional clip of Nari showing the audience how to make the fermented, rotting cabbage goodness that is Kimchi.
