New Team Member: Jen Sweet

I’d like to take time this afternoon to introduce new Team EDR contributor Jen Sweet. Jen is a food enthusiast and home chef with her own blog Travels in Cooking. She will be writing the Sunday Suppers column here at Eat.Drink.Repeat.

One of the main reasons I reached out to Jen was because of the attention to detail she brings to her recipes that will resonate with our audience trying to duplicate at home.

Example, here’s a comparision of various steps in her versus my recipes.
Hers— 1-1/2 cups finely chopped cooked chicken breasts
Mine— Some

Hers— Place the butter and sugar in a separate large bowl and whisk together until pale and creamy
Mine— Stir

Hers— Bake at 300-degree oven for 45 minutes or till light brown.  Make sure to stir every 15 minutes
Mine— A while

As you can tell, Jen is a much better/clearer communicator of recipes than I. This is the main reason I cannot bake– Apparently 1/16th of a tsp of stuff makes a huge difference in some recipes.
