TTh IS BACK! | Tyler’s Top 5 Holiday Drinks

 by tyler [Team Booze Hound]

AHHHH Christmas. New Years…the Holidays. Gifts under the tree, a little nog in the glass, some flames in the place and the most hideous sweaters mankind can produce. That’s the beginning…then comes the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins you know, cousins you don’t know, their kids, their kids toys, voices, our of control noise, candy, candy, candy, 5000 course meals, and nearing the end more desserts than you can shake a stick at. Clearly I am only tipping the ice burg here but just that small list of challenges can lead even the most stable person to indulge in one to twenty drinks depending on size and strength.

Not to worry, after much mature experimentation over the holidays I have come up with my “Top 5 Holiday themed beverages”.

5. Baileys Hot Mint Chocolate

  • 2 oz. Baileys Mint Chocolate Irish Cream (25 oz. per bottle)
  • 0.25 oz. Green Chartreuse®
  • 1 cup(s) hot chocolate
  • 1 dollop(s) whipped cream

4. The Grinch

  • 2 oz. Midori
  • ½ squeezed lemon
  • 1 oz. Simple Syrup
  • 1 Cherry

3. Candy Cane

  • 1 oz.  Cherry Vodka
  • 1 oz. Peppermint Schnapps
  • 1 oz. Crème de Cacao
  • 1 dash Grenadine & Half & Half
  • Splash of soda water
  • Stir with a Candy Cane garnish

2. Egg Nog

  • 12 pasteurized shell eggs
  • 1 lb. confectioners’ sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup vanilla
  • 4 cups evaporated milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream

1. Brandy Crusta

  • 2 oz. Cognac
  • 1 tsp. Cherry or Orange Liquor
  • 1 tsp. Lemon juice
  • 2 dashes angostura bitters
  • Sugar rim glass and lemon garnish

As you can see I have covered all genders, mostly the ladies, but not to forget the men I left the Cognac for last.

Happy Thirsty Thursday! And remember: if it’s on fire, don’t be the idiot, blow it out first! -T-Buss – Team EDR Booze Hound _____________________________________________________________
