Finally, I’m back!  After a month…err…more than a month…of sickness, holidays, busyness, work, more sickness, traveling, and NOT drinking enough wine…it feels good to be at my laptop once again, with a glass
by my side.

I’ve been excited to review ANDRE sparkling for a long time.  I’ve grown quite attached to it over the years.  If you’ve read my other reviews, you know I love effervescence in all drinks, but especially in a glass of wine.  It makes it so…fun!  FUN, bright, easygoing, and even friendly are all adjectives that pop into my brain (ew…bad pun not intended here) when I think about the taste and mouth-feel. Mmmmm.

Usually, champagne and sparkling white wine are chosen for special occasions, but Andre is often the first bottle I grab for ANY occasion…for so many reasons.

Appreciation of Andre, Reason #1:
I love the price.  Who WOULDN’T, at an extremely affordable $4?!  I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I would love to have a wine cellar.  But realistically, it doesn’t make sense…it’s too expensive. However…I COULD afford a cellar full of Andre.  Just sayin’.

Reason #2:
It’s delicious.  Seriously.  I pride myself in knowing a thing or two about wine, having been educated in using all of my senses to determine all the characteristics of a glass that make it desirable. However, I also have the ability to throw all snobbery out the window and just enjoy simple tastes, like Andre.  You won’t find anything sophisticated here, nothing of depth, no layers for your tongue to uncover.  It’s just fun.  Juicy, sweet bubbly fun with a slightly sour (and delightful) kick.  Brut, Rose, Spumante…all of them, wonderful. Brut is my personal favorite; it’s the driest of them all and the best mixer for martinis (think Blue Curacao and pineapple juice topped with Andre…I call it Sexy French Man) and mimosas.

Reason #3:
Opening a bottle of Andre is fun.  I am usually scared of bottles with a popping cork.  But this simple wine has a simple cork (for simple people—ha!).  It’s easy.  A simple twist and it’s all over.  Also—the fun, festive sound that usually accompanies such an opening still remains.  Fabulous.

Reason #4:
Crowd.  Pleaser.  Plain and simple.  I don’t really have to elaborate here.  People love champagne, and YOUR people will love Andre.  ANY occasion can be made special with this stuff.  Who doesn’t love a pretty champagne flute filled with beautiful frothy sweetness?

So, please, celebrate for no reason at all!  Celebrate life and breath and friends—and invite Andre to the party.  You can invite him 4 or 5 times and still spend under $25!

Until next time—cheers and sparkle!
