SS | Review | Osaka Sushi and Hibachi Grill, Duluth MN
by jen sweet [Travels in Cooking]
By far the best weekend spot for food and entertainment in the Twin Ports (Duluth/Superior) area! Osaka, the newly opened sushi and hibachi grill, is located near Best Buy and TJ Max up in Hermantown. The restaurant has two sections, the left side includes a bar and sushi sit down area and the right side is strictly hibachi grills.
- Good entertainment!
- Even more amazing food!
- Fun for all ages!
- Great birthday place!
- Beautiful and inviting atmosphere!
The dinner starts out with miso soup and salad, then the entertainment begins. The hibachi chef welcomes you with utensils and beats, all while getting the grill ready. Watch the show, as both the 11 year olds and the 80 year olds are amazed at the onion cho cho train, flying egg tricks, and “he makes it look easy” fried rice, followed by your veggies, steak, shrimp, chicken, swordfish (or whichever meat you choose). Once your meal is complete, the chef offers adults the opportunity to feel like a college kid again and get sake shots for as many seconds as you would like.
Osaka also has a great lunch deal on sushi that I would also recommend! For $11 you get soup, salad, and 3 rolls of your choice (LOTS of choices), what a great deal for such beautiful, tasty and price right sushi! This deal officially makes it my favorite sushi place for lunch in the Twin Cities area!
**Helpful Tip: make a reservation a couple of days a head of time if you want to go on the hibachi side.
