About: Torn between my passion for food and the 9-5 world, I decided to take the road less traveled. I married my marginal chef skills with my even more marginal writing skills and began Eat.Drink.Repeat. with a group of friends who feel as strongly about food and drink as I do.  Scientists have yet to determine its effects on the local wildlife.

Poison: Coors Light. Dirty Vodka Martinis. Any Dark Microbrew.

Death Row Meal:  Tacos al pastor served from the grimiest, least English-speaking taco truck you can find.

Food/Drink Heroes:  My Grandma, Anthony Bourdain, Emeril, and Michael Ruhlman.

Best Food/Drink Story: Got into an shrimp eating contest with Benson… Even though I’m allergic to shrimp. I ate 76 but passed out immedietly due to the Benedryl I took so I wouldn’t die.

Monday Morning Jolt

About: I graduated from Winona State University with a degree in Business Administration. I have yet to use it. I will not be defined by where I work, rather what I do – and right now all I want to do is eat, drink, and be merry! I also tend to have a new plan for life once a week.

Craft:  Baking, sewing, cooking, planning, decorating and anything else a 50’s housewife would do.

Poison: Captain and Coke.

Death Row Meal:  Start with Timber Lodge wild rice soup. Then mom’s medium-rare bacon wrapped filet mignon with a fully loaded baked potato, asparagus with parmesan cheese and a Red Lobster cheesy biscuit on the side. Finish it off with homemade lefsa and a cappuccino.

Food/Drink Heroes:  My mom, Carew Halleck, Anthony Bourdain, and Adam Richman

Best Food/Drink Story: I was walking around San Diego with my family. We found this little coffee shop and I ordered a Chai Latte. It was the most amazing thing I ever drank in my entire life! I told everyone I knew about the amazing chai latte.

About: I’m on round two of college.  I spent three years working towards a degree in beer drinking, took a break to be a flight attendant, took over my mom’s small business, and am now back in school.  I’m pursuing a degree in Anthropology.  Don’t ask me what I’m going to do with it.

Craft: Student, Foodie, Escapist

Poison: Strong beer or Polish vodka

Death Row Meal: Sushi. 

Food/Drink Heroes: Martha Stewart, Alton Brown, Emeril

Best Food/Drink Story: I use cupcakes to make friends.  I bring them to work, I bring them to bars, I bring them on flights.  I don’t care if people only like me for my cupcakes, I have to get them out of my house or I will eat all of them at once.

About: Music teacher by trade, starving performing musician/stage actress/gymnastics coach/foodie by choice.

Craft:  PreK-5th grade Vocal Music Teacher

Poison:  Vino…ti amo, mi amore. Newcastle in the fall, Tanqueray tonic in the summer.

Death Row Meal:  New York pizza with a side of chips and guacamole…and a good bottle of shiraz.

Food/Drink Heroes:  Bobby Flay, Giada deLaurentiis, Rachael Ray

Best Food/Drink Story: While on choir tour in Europe, we stopped at a rest area in Switzerland, during a beautiful drive through the Alps. I thought it was only too appropriate to celebrate by buying 4 RitterSports and a bottle of wine, and passing them around the bus. Fantastic.

About:  I work jobs that have nothing to do with my degree of choice so that I can afford to travel and pay my loans. Everything else I do is in the pursuit of my own enjoyment.

Craft: Work that lasts less than 6 months. Fun that lasts at least 6 hours per sitting. 

Poison: Whatever you’re buyin’

Death Row Meal:  Eduardos deep dish pizza, KFC biscuits, and Mackinaw Island Fudge

Food/Drink Heroes: Gordon Ramsay – for being a genus and for his contribution to  food education, Kathy Buss *Mom – for the best Christmas Cookies EVER, Joey Chestnut – for keeping it American. 

Best Food/Drink Story: “The time I was so wasted I flipped Kodiak longcut chew into my eye and got megga buzzed.”  “When Andy created the big bad wolf appetizer, Featuring three different cuts of pork.” “When Dabel, Flom and I needed to be on time for senior sendoff, BUT brothers had $2 pitchers. 19 pitchers later we showed up. I cant even tell you where the event was or who had graduated.”

Sunday Suppers

 About:  My love for food came from my upbringing as a farmers daughter in Northern Wisconsin.  Although I grew up in a small town, I have experienced many cultures and countries.  Traveling the world, one meal at a time, I love to share my knowledge of what tastes good, how to make it and how to get crazy creative in the kitchen again.  Food is art, so have a little fun with it.

Craft: Cook, baker, designer, traveler and exerciser.

Poison:  A cupboard full of seasonings and some fresh ingredients.

Death Row Meal:  Chocolate Molten Cakes and Mcdonalds French Fries

Food/Drink Heroes:  I absolutely love Rachel Ray’s perky attitude and energy she brings to the kitchen.  My mother is also an hero of mine, as she has surprised me over the years with anything from grilling a steak to throwing knives. 

Best Food/Drink Story:  When I first started eating sushi on regular basis I was apprehensive to make it myself.  After taking a sushi making class with my boyfriend we soon perfected the art of making our own sushi.  Even the hardest of meals are easy to make when you have the right ingredients, a good recipe and some fun in the kitchen! It also never hurts to have a beer of a glass of wine too!
